Android malware refers to malicious software that targets Android mobile devices. The most common form tends to be adware. Sneaky and deceptive, Android malware can be extremely frustrating for Android device users - as well as disorienting, as it can get in the way of how you would normally use your device.
Android malware employs two main modes of operation:
1. Tricks you into granting permission so it can access sensitive information.
2. Exploits vulnerabilities in Android phones by giving itself administrator privileges, in order to access sensitive information.
If you are constantly seeing ads or apps you don't recognise on your device, or your battery is draining faster than usual - these are signs that your device could be infected.
