Antivirus (AV)

An antivirus is a program designed to protect a device from potential 'infection' by malicious programs, such as malware and viruses. This program must always stay up-to-date in order to effectively act against known malware. A best antivirus will run automatically in real-time detection, using behavioral machine learning to detect viruses and malware such as worms, Trojans and spyware.
An antivirus solution will scan and evaluate data in order to identify and block these threats.
